I like to do fun posts on Sundays showcasing the Seacoast areas of New
Hampshire and southern Maine, when I have a chance to. This Sunday I thought
I’d show you some pictures from around the little island of New Castle New Hampshire.
New Castle NH is a wonderful little island fulll of
narrow winding streets, fabulous antique homes with some new
and newer homes mixed in, home to the famous Wentworth-by-the-Sea Hotel, New
Castle Common State Park and Beach, and loads of water views almost everwhere
you look.
New Castle is
the next town over from Portsmouth NH, and was settled in
1693. There are still a number of antique homes from the
1600’s still being lived in on New Castle. Talk about a little place just full
of history! And it’s the smallest town in New Hampshire!
New Castle NH is also home to Fort
William and Mary, which played an important role in the American
Revolution. The raid of Fort William and Mary by the British is what set off
Paul Revere’s famous ride to Portsmouth to warn of the British
coming. Fort Constituition is the name Ft. William and Mary is now known
as.
Enjoy these pictures from around New Castle New
Hampshire!
