Portsmouth is an area rich in history, and our churches play important roles in that history as well.  Our oldest town churches are right in the heart of downtown, Market Square area.  One of our stately historic downtown churches was part of Paul Revere’s Midnight Ride to warn of the British coming.

North Church underwent a complete rebuilding of its magnificent steeple that can be seen from many areas of town.  North Church sits proudly in the very heart of our downtown Market Square, and has been the subject of many paintings and photographs of Portsmouth.

During a snowstorm, I can wake up in the middle of the night, and without looking outside, I can usually tell it’s either snowing or has snowed because of the sheer quietness a blanket of snow brings.  You can hear that quiet and you can feel it inside, too.  It’s just so soothing and calming.

- one of the world’s most photographed lighthouses. Sohier Park looks
right out at the Nubble – a quiet peaceful spot overlooking the ocean
and rocky coastline.

Kittery Maine has some beautiful scenery all
along its coast – plenty of coves, docks, all kinds of boats, small
businesses, waterfront homes, and so much more. That’s what keeps life
along the coast of Maine so interesting – every day is different!

Strawberry Banke has beautiful gardens, including this wonderful Victorian Children’s Garden. This fun and beautiful garden to tour during the summers in Portsmouth NH.

Hampton Beach – Summer Sand Sculpture Contest -
this was a lot of fun to see these sand sculptures being created from
giant piles of sand. The artists came from all over the country to
compete in this contest!
